Ivana Kundai is a first-generation Zimbabwean-American designer who grew up seeing and understanding the cultural significance of garments and products. Through her study of Product Design, her interest in design has developed with a focus on innovation and sustainability. She believes that there are no sacrifices to be made when creating sustainably because the true beauty lies in the ideas generated rather than the materials used. Her hope is to show more people the beauty in repurposing and upcycling. In the Spring of 2023, Ivana Kundai earned venture capital funding through the Oregon Innovation Challenge to start her own clothing brand, VANA Denim, with a focus on sustainability and freedom from conventionality. She has also continued to work on a number of design projects including 3D printing, fashion and lifestyle products.
